Arai’s core design philosophy of a smooth, round shape has evolved to a new level. The new GPV-R remains true to the Egg-Shaped Form (ESF), prioritizing protection down to the finest detail. The redesigned shell lowers the shield pivot point, allowing the upper shell area to be smoother and rounder; this redistributes impact energy more efficiently and minimizes—or even prevents—the intrusion of impact energy. This strict adherence to the ESF allows some impact energy to "glance off" the shell during an impact. The addition of a central shield lock—featuring positive locking and effortless operation from either side of the helmet—demonstrates Arai’s commitment to rider protection and performance.
